FSX reinstall problem

Guest

Hi all,

FSX is my life so I am not in good shape right now. Here is what has happened:

During FSX, had a power failure. After this FSX would open with a messed up cockpit (graphics) so I uninstalled, ran disk defrag and re-installed. Now I have the program working again BUT - the fsx.exe file became a blank page icon and by right clicking I could change the icon back to the fsx blue square icon but it now it has a small Windows security shield attached to it and on clicking, gives the warning so typical of Vista about did you want to open this file. he default shortcus says it cannot locate the file.

FSX appears to work OK by clicking fsx.exe but this problem would appear to be making TrackIR head tracking unit not recognise it. Does anyone know of this as a search of the web does not help, neither did a repreat uninstal/re-install. I have SP1 and FSUIPC also.

Any ideas, I can't bear to face reformatting entire PC to solve.
