I just bought an Asus G1s
Santa Rosa Platform
2.2 Ghz Core 2
8600 GT
2 gigs of ram
Vista Home Premium

No your setup sucks. Sell it and get a desktop with an 8800 series.

8600 mobiles are total crap.

Why waste the money or time if the game runs like crap.

Stop and do something that must hurt. THINK ABOUT IT.

Click.... Oh yea I am curious if it will run well.

Thats why I am asking idiot.

Looks good enough to me.
If you enjoy it then think about adding another 2 gigs of ram.

Does it run better in Vista?
DirectX 10 better than 9?
I thought 32 bit can only hand 3. something gigs of ram.

DirectX 10 better than 9? It will be once it comes out, if you have the card for it.

Actually, the Asus G1s system with the 8600 Mobile rocks! The only difference with your G1 and my friends is that his has 4gigs of ram. However, he is able to run games like WoW and EverQuest, BF2142 etc on full graphics. He sees very little difference between his laptop and his desktop with is basically the same beast I have, only with an 8800GTS-640.

People on here shouldnt give a piece of their mind, when they dont have much to spare!

don't buy FSX

it will run like crap in your computer

go to eBay and buy FS2004 for $10. You will be much happier.

but I don't think you will heed my advice. which makes me wonder why did you come to this board to ask the question in the first place.

The reason why FSX runs bad on your PC id because you only have 1GB of Ram. Get 4GB of Ram 2GB minimum and it should run fine. 😛

If you read his post, you would see he has two (2) sticks of 1024mb of ram.......

interesting...I saw the highest game improvement when I went from AMD to dual core E6600.....not even moving to 8800GTX seemed that big a deal (from a 7950).
would be interesting to find out improvement from dual to quad core and also from single to SLI
