Hi all,

I have just got a new PC, I have installed FSX and the SP1, installed VFR photo scenery but the system keeps crashing.

My spec:

AMD 64 x 2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.00GHz
4GB RAM
NVIDIA 8600 Geeforce GT 512MB
160GB HDD
Vista home prem 32bit

Even on lower settings it keeps crashing out, giving some of the following errors:

Seems like a different file every time causing a problem, any ideas?

I have tried a fresh install of windows (including formatting C) but this hasn't worked. Would be greatful for any pointers

Thanks

I would start with the basics and isolate the problem.
1. Uninstall FSX, SP1 and the scenery program.
2. Defragment hard drive and check for errors.
3. Update Windows and video card driver.
4. Install FSX, verify correct operation(1 entire day of correct operation including rebooting computer).
5. Install SP1, verify correct operation.
6. Install scenery program, verify correct operation.

Thanks, giving that I try now, hopefully it will work, its really annoying.

Would the fact the the version of windows is 32bit cause any probs with the type of processor?

They sent me the wrong one, I'm trying to get the 64bit version

Thanks

I'm unsure, hopefully someone with more computer expertise will check in. Try not to load more than one thing at a time even after you get the other version.

Hi,

The problem is fixed, I uninstalled everything, reinstalled FSX, then FDS SP1, then the VFR photo scenery, then the photo scenery update, then disabled anti aliasing.

I've now got all of the scenery on full settings!

Thanks for your help
