DC-3 experts - AutoPilot ?

Question for anyone that knows about the real DC-3 :-

Is the AutoPilot included in FS2004, true to life ? Ie... Did the DC-3 really have an AutoPilot system ?

I'm surprised that a plane from the 1930 / 1940s had an AutoPilot at all - albeit a pretty prehistoric 'Alt/Hdg' only system.

Thanks Chaps.....

RadarMan - I've just ordered the MAAM DC-3 / Dakota.... it's reputed to be superb.... it's developed by the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, and all proceeds go to restoring DC-3s !

It's gonna take 28 days to get over to England from East Coast US but will drop a post on with a review when it arrives.

I've been eyeing that, there are many new textures out for it now.
Post some shots when you get it.
