Any idea where could i find out the missing tibet airport in FSX? I am looking out for the bangda, lhasa airports which are one of the highest in the world. Bangda is the highest i guess at 15k!

It would be a lovely experience to land a 747 on the world's highest and one of the longest runways!

Anybody who has come across these airports kindly intimate.

Cheers

it is possible coz in real world scenario china airways have started the flight to chengdu, bangda which is at 15k and apparently has the worlds longest runway after denver. i dont think will be a problem.

Cheers.

I wasnt talking about putting a 747 there. I meant putting a 47 down at Lukla - a very high airport and short.

From VNKT climb to at least 13000 ft while following VOR 112.30 outbound on track 096° for about 70 nm. Now turn on terrain mode (TERR) on your GPS navigator and carefully locate the low elevation valley running north and south with VNLK on its path. Follow the valley to the north while descending to just above the airport elevation at 9100 ft. When you have the airport in sight on your right side line up with the 2500 ft asphalt runway at 60° and land.

At least Royal Nepal Airlines, Yeti Airlines, and Shangri-la Air have scheduled flights between Kathmandu and Lukla. They all fly with the DHC-6 Twin Otter, each way about 40 min. You find an excellent version of this aircraft at Project Globe Twotter. It also comes in Shangri-la Air livery.

SO I dont see a 747 stopping at that altitude on 2500 ft runway.

sorry i thought u're saying about bangda!

i tried landing at lukla, a couple of times, once with a beechcraft and once with a learjet. Learjet seems to be easier to control. Though I must admit I reached the far end of the runway. All this in absolutely clear skies!

i remember having the tibet scenery for fs2004 but cant find for FSX. Searched everywhere!

I have the existing fs2004 scenery could it be modified in FSX?

I'm really desperate for it. Kindly help me out.

Youre better than me mate - I never did keep it on the runway - will have to try the Lear

Hmmm.

Just tried 747

Full auto brakes
full flaps
Slammed it on the ground as hard as it would allow
speed flaps full
brakes full
reverse engines

Damn........ off the edge we go...just

Need to lose 20mph from somewhere

Maybe try using a very reduced weight and raise flaps during rollout. You could cheat by putting in a stiff headwind too.

Yeah thats a good idea
Take off from kathmandu with only 20% fuel and proceed.

Start ur dive only when ur 11-12 miles out of lukla otherwise u'll be in trouble. there are big mountains around!

Set the auto brakes to max.

Still I see it'll be tough

Try the westjet 737-600 on the flyaway download section. Pretty nimble machine. It might land at lukla

Almost if not all 2004 scenery won't work.
FS9 the world was flat, in FSX the world is round. The scenery can't be adapted for it.
