I have a 6600 256mb Club3d Nvidia card
Athlon 64 3500+
1GB Ram
XP Professonal
Asrock DUAL-VISTA S939 Mobo

If I upgrade to "AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ 2.2GHz (939) OEM"

64-bit support Yes
Clock speed 2.2 GHz
Core Toledo
Fsb 1000 MHz
Level 1 cache (kb) 256
Level 2 cache (kb) 1024
Manufacturing process 90 nm
Number of cores 2
Retail/oem OEM

Will this allow me to run most settings on high.

Thanks Smile

I'd say your video card would probably be the weak link and your 1 gb RAM. So unless you're running at some tiny resolution I'd have to say no you probably won't run near max.

I agree, very high default.
Cut down most of the frame eaters, heavy autogen, clouds and all AI especially aircraft.
Cut out shadows.

On the system I have, I have autogen on sparse and custom scenery. Aircraft is on high.

Which produced this - https://forum.flyawaysimulation.com/forum/topic/25658/my-final-leg-of-my-world-tour-journey/

That was with no autogen. I use 1024 resolution as I have a widescreen lcd. The highest I can go is 1440x900 (not sure aout the 900).

OK would the processor i mentioned and the 8600GT Improve it.

Chipset - Geforce 8600 GT
Memory - 256MB GDDR3
Core Frequency - 540MHz
Memory Frequency - 1400MHz
RAMDAC - 400MHZ
Interface - PCI-Express
Memory Bus - 128-bit
Stream Processors - 32
Max. Resolution - 2560 x 1600
SLI Ready - Yes
Output - 1. Dual-Link DVI 2. HDTV

Thanks for your help guys.

You can run most setting's if not all of high. If you turn off Ai you will get decent Frame rates.
