Do you have to install SP1 when you have a dualcore system, as I installed sp1 weeks ago and installed my DC processor yesterday but don't notice a difference.

Yes you need to. Make sure you have no add-on's installed when you install sp1. What are your spec's?

Yes, I think that does mater. You can not have anything other than the default craft installed.

I'm going to get the above as my funds are quite low, with the amount of spending I've done this week alone.

That should help push up my frames right?

That will help but if you can afford the 8600gts that is a huge improvement over the gt.
