Well i've fiddled with Flight sims and combat flight sims for last few years, never really got seriously into it. Only time i did was with Flight Unlimited 3 and i joined a virtual airline for it. (enjoyed that alot )

So just a few questions on FS2004. (few examples in the question so you know what i'm looking for)

1) What decent freebie downloads would you recommend to enhance FS2004? (ie AI, aircraft etc)

1b) know any decent plane paint packs? or do you have to get them all indervidually.

2) What Pay Addons are worth getting? (ie FS traffic 2004, FS global etc etc)

3) I'm a UKer, are there any really decent Virtual Airlines avalible for me? (need to be active ones too, like i mentioned before that FU3 one was great but wasnt in the end updated alot)

4) any other things you can think of that would help my FS2004 experiance?

Try http://www.projectopensky.com/index.php for big jets and http://www.pmstone.com/home.php for smaller GA types.
You can get paint jobs (textures) for both plus many other types here and at http://www.avsim.com/.

1b) know any decent plane paint packs? or do you have to get them all individually.
Check out http://www.avsim.com/ for what you want, you didn't specify what you like to fly.

2) What Pay Add-ons are worth getting? (ie FS traffic 2004, FS global etc etc)

Check our 2004 aircraft forum for member threads about the pay-ware that they have used and liked.

3) I'm a UKer, are there any really decent Virtual Airlines available for me? (need to be active ones too, like I mentioned before that FU3 one was great but wasn't in the end updated alot)

We also have a virtual airline forum that you can check out. A few of our members also belong to some, check their signatures.

4) any other things you can think of that would help my FS2004 experience?

Read through the forum and you'll find new free and pay add-ons that enhance the flying pleasure and excellent advice and experience from the members.

Good luck, welcome aboard and feel free to ask anything you like.

Thanks for the reply, 🙂 ooh might as well post a Screenie of a flight i was just messing around in early this evening

Also i notice people seem to have to do the long way around for screenies, (ie prnt scrn then open a paint type program and paste it in, sorta interupts flying)

I recommend this software, its freeware and i've used it on many occaisons to capture clips from game movies, its linked to you Prnt screen key (can be changed) and it can be activated and deactivated very easily.

The above was taken with that program, so judge quality for yourself.

Heres another for close up view

NOTE: you can set the program to resize the pics as it takes them, which i will do for future reference, just wanted to show people how handy this program is (i play in 1280x1024 you see)

I enjoy making screen savers of flights that I follow to the letter(to the best of my ability so far) in FS9 -- I like to chronical all the places I go in the official logbook and on my spiral tablet by my CPU here at home.

Faaa Int'l Airport. French Polynesia
