FSX Error

I'm flying cross country (or trying to anyway) from Logan International to San Jose. I'm about half way through New York when an error window pops up and says "Flight Simulator X has encountered and error and needs to close immediately." You know what I'm talking about. Is this an error in FSX, or is my system getting too hot?

That's one thought, it can be a weak power supply or a few other things.
I would start out by cleaning your case, fans, heatsink etc.
Maybe adding a fan on the back grid to blow out hot air.
As you know Windows does issue that message for mysterious reasons...often.

Do you get the "Send to Microsoft report." function when this happens? If so then click where it says read report, then it should tell you the module that is crashing.

If its MSVCR80.dll then it could be a AA problem or other things.

Hi, I had the same problem and I changed my video card from a 128mb card to a ATI Radeon 1950 Pro PCI Express card. The Geek Squad guy said that the main problem was that I didn't have a PCI Express card. I think it was a regular PCI slot. Anyway it never happens now. Good Luck.
