Officials at Nepal's state-run airline have sacrificed two goats to appease Akash Bhairab, the Hindu sky god, following technical problems with one of its Boeing 757 aircraft, the carrier said Tuesday.

Others beliefs may seem strange to us but I'm sure ours are just as strange to them.

A fair point Radarman, and I speak as someone with no religious beliefs at all.

No, my point was not to scoff at Hindu beliefs - believe me, if they had annointed the 757 with holy water I'd still have made this post. It was more the idea of praying to the god(s) in order to sort a defective airliner that I found amusing.

They are lucky I was not there...

I am Jamaican... we EAT goat... with lots of curry on it. Might offend someone or something, but man would it taste good.

So... yall doing anything with those goats there?

Well, it seems the plane worked OK after the ceremony, so perhaps they were on to something. 😀
