Hey guys, I broke down and had to install FS lol

Im not gonna install as many aircraft this time though

Im trying to re install Kirk olsons F-16 Viper.....I downloaded the Afterburner effects as well as the Texas national card livery...but i can't get either too work..I edited the ac file and put the texture in the texture file....

Also, is there a cockpit update for this aircraft cause all im getting is a black screen in the cockpit with a few buttons........

Hi, ok the texture should go into the aircraft folder and not the texture folder, in the read me file there should be something like this

[fltsim.x]
title=F-16N navy
sim=VIPER
model=1
panel=
sound=
texture=navy
checklists=
description=F-16 Fighting Falcon
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed Martin
ui_type=F-16 viper (USN)
ui_variation=F-16N
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=AF87235
atc_airline=Air Force
atc_flight_number=AF87235
atc_type=LOCKHEED
atc_model=F16
atc_parking_codes=M001,F16
atc_parking_types=MIL_COMBAT
atc_id_enable= 1

Copy and paste this below the last one in the aircraft cfg and change the x to the next number in line (eg if the one before it is [fltsim.3] the one you added will be 4.
I don't think the viper comes with a full panel so you should add the recommended one here http://www.simviation.com/fs2002panels12.htm
third from bottom. Hope this helps! 😀

ui_manufacturer=Lockheed Martin
ui_type=F-16 viper (USAF)
ui_variation=JDAM's
atc_heavy=0

atc_airline=Air Force
atc_flight_number=

Everything looks ok there, just make sure the texture file is in the aircraft folder and that the
characters are the same:- eg if on the texture file it's
texture.abc but in the cfg its texture=ABC it won't work.
Also make sure the ui_manufacturer is the same or it might be showing in the aircraft menu as something else.

Other than that tell me what texture you downloaded and from where and i'll download it myself and post the results for you!

This is where i got the download from

http://www.simviation.com/fs2004military6.htm

is the second Texas Air National Gaurd F-16 with the flag on the fin

The file for the Texture says texture.147fw <<<<is that supposed to match the code in the cfg file?

Would i put

Texture=texture.147fw VS texture=147fw?

OK jpalmer2004 i'm back and we've got a result 😀 . First time i downloaded the wrong texture (but that still should've worked 😞 )
Anyway back to yours, place your texture file(complete folder) into your Viper folder so that it looks like this
Now copy the aircraft cfg that is in the read me and is this:-
[fltsim.5]
title=VIPER 147fw
sim=VIPER
model=fuel
panel=
sound=
texture=147fw
checklists=
description=F-16 Fighting Falcon ---by Kirk Olsson---\n147fw repaint by Paul Schwerdtfeger
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed Martin
ui_type=F-16 viper (USAF)
ui_variation=Long Range 147fw
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=1
atc_airline=AIR FORCE
atc_flight_number=147
atc_model=F16
and paste it below the last one in the Viper aircraft cfg so that it looks like this:-
[fltsim.0]
title=VIPER gbu
sim=VIPER
model=GBU
panel=
sound=
texture=
checklists=
description= F-16 Fighting Falcon ---by Kirk Olsson---
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed Martin
ui_type=F-16 viper (USAF)
ui_variation=GBU's
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=94
atc_airline=Air Force
atc_flight_number=
atc_type=LOCKHEED
atc_model=F16

[fltsim.1]
title=VIPER harm
sim=VIPER
model=HARM
panel=
sound=
texture=
checklists=
description=F-16 Fighting Falcon ---by Kirk Olsson---
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed Martin
ui_type=F-16 viper (USAF)
ui_variation=HARM's
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=94
atc_airline=Air Force
atc_flight_number=
atc_type=LOCKHEED
atc_model=F16

[fltsim.2]
title=VIPER vc
sim=VIPER
model=1
panel=
sound=
texture=
checklists=
description=F-16 Fighting Falcon ---by Kirk Olsson---
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed Martin
ui_type=F-16 viper (USAF)
ui_variation=Clean (Virtual Cockpit Friendly)
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=94
atc_airline=Air Force
atc_flight_number=
atc_type=LOCKHEED
atc_model=F16

[fltsim.3]
title=VIPER fuel
sim=VIPER
model=fuel
panel=
sound=
texture=navy
checklists=
description=F-16 Fighting Falcon ---by Kirk Olsson---
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed Martin
ui_type=F-16 viper (USAF)

ui_variation=JDAM's
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=94
atc_airline=Air Force
atc_flight_number=
atc_type=LOCKHEED
atc_model=F16

[fltsim.5]
title=F-16N navy
sim=VIPER
model=1
panel=
sound=
texture=navy
checklists=
description=F-16 Fighting Falcon
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed Martin
ui_type=F-16 viper (USN)
ui_variation=F-16N
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=AF87235
atc_airline=Air Force
atc_flight_number=AF87235
atc_type=LOCKHEED
atc_model=F16
atc_parking_codes=M001,F16
atc_parking_types=MIL_COMBAT
atc_id_enable= 1

[fltsim.6]

description=F-16 Fighting Falcon
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed Martin

ui_variation=Long Range
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=AF87235
atc_airline=Air Force
atc_flight_number=AF87235
atc_type=LOCKHEED
atc_model=F16
atc_parking_codes=M001,F16
atc_parking_types=MIL_COMBAT
atc_id_enable= 1

[fltsim.7]
title=VIPER 147fw
sim=VIPER
model=fuel
panel=
sound=
texture=147fw
checklists=
description=F-16 Fighting Falcon ---by Kirk Olsson---\n147fw repaint by Paul Schwerdtfeger
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed Martin
ui_type=F-16 viper (USAF)
ui_variation=Long Range 147fw
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=1
atc_airline=AIR FORCE
atc_flight_number=147
atc_model=F16

As you can see here in my cfg it is [fltsim.7] in yours you should rename it to whatever number comes after the last one. For it to show up in all models you will have to repeat the process for all models ie the one i put in is
model=fuel so for it to show up carrying jdams you will have to put another full cfg below change the number to the next in line and put
model=jdam.
Then you should have a finished model that looks like this 😀
Hope this helps!
