hi guys I have a question on how to use the ils and descend. So I do all the normal stuff like putting the course, putting the nav1 frequencies and turning on approach. I mostly trying this on the default 737

try this quick and easy youtube tutorial:
the 737 should allow you to autoland up to about 250 feet above the runway; at that point, you'll need to cut off the autopilot and autothrottle - bring it down manually.

On the default 737s panel there's a row of buttons from left to right: NAV HDG APP etc.
There is also a NAV/GPS toggle switch to the left of that row.
When you want to follow the Heading ATC has given you, the HDG button has to be pressed (it will light up) and the toggle switch has to be in the NAV position.
