FSX Service Packs

I have successfully installed Service Pack 1 having followed the recommendation in PC Pilot to start with a clean copy of FSX (ie no add-ons). It has certainly removed the mysterious sandbanks that blocked the River Thames downstream from Greenwich. To date I don't know what else I have achieved.

I note that Service Pack 2 is in the offing and I wonder if the same requirement to have no add-ons still applies - does anyone know the answer to this? I don't plan to add anything to the base system till I know to avoid wasting time.

It's only come out with the Acceleration pack so far and installs when you install the pack.
I guess when it's made available to download it too will have directions.

I did a clean install of FSX, SP1 then the pack although I believe SP1 is also in the pack.

Thanks for your reply, I wondered whether "Acceleration" might have SP1.

It's SP2 I was concerned about as I would like to avoid having to reinstall again.
