I've gone through it and have practiced the Level One instructions and it's a very good guide. I've always used it without the aid of the ATC. This is due to the fact that you're the one programming the airbus and Mike Ray instructs you turn off the ATC upon flying the airbus with his instructions. But I was wondering if after you program the MCDU, with the climb, decent, and approach/autoland information, does it ignore the ATC or will the ATC acknowledge what you've programmed into the MCDU and take note of that? Will it still tell you to for instance "turn left heading xx.." if the aircraft is already being controlled by autopilot(AP1)?
