Cant install FS2004

I can't install it and I think its Vista because the box didn't say it could run on Vista. Is there any patch if that is the case? I put in Disc 1 and Windows Explorer locks up then i have to restart it and then try again but now I have to restart my computer because Windows Explorer didn't restart properly. Please help because this has Censored me off so much.

Well to be honest i cant see why its not starting im running FS9 on vista OK

And it doesnt say it runs on vista on the box because vista wasnt out when FS9 came out.

all i did was put my disc 1 on and it just autoruned and it installed fine.
