speed drops when AP engages

Hi
Does anyone else have this problem? I take off in a default FS9 737 from Schiphol. My FP says I have to make a turn 2.3 NM after take-off so I set the heading hold switch ready (the HDG light comes on the panel). Then when it's time to make the turn, I engage AP to make the turn for me and suddenly my speed drops and I can't manually control altitude with my joystick. None of the other AP lights are on, only HDG...

Didn't use to happen, only recently.

Any tips?

Thanks

No, none of these are activated. The AP switch I have engaged is Hdg and flight director comes on automatically anyway when that is activated.
It is a complete mystery to me, never happened before 😕
Thanks for your reply anyway
