NEED HELP WITH SMILEY FACES

Here is my problem.
I typed a long answer to a question and after checking the spelling I added a smiley face to the post .
I submitted it and guess what i seen.
There was a great smiley face but the answer I typed in wasn't there.
This has happened to me several times.
Comment please.

Only answer I can give was that if the text was hilited at the time you inserted the smilie then the smilie would overwrite that text, but there could be other reasons. 😳

Hadn't logged in above - I presume it was a flyaway Smilie and not one from another outside source?? I never submit a post without previewing it first cos what you see in the preview is what will be posted and gives you a chance to change/amend/add.
I just did a trial with the text hilited and the smilie did overwrite the whole thing but had taken the precaution to copy all the text and I have just pasted it all back in. 😂
