Frame Rates

I've had my current computer setup for about three years now, and I've noticed a dramatic decrease in frame rates. My current system specs:

Intel Celeron CPU E1200 1.60 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT GFX Card
150 Gigabyte Fixed Hard Disk
2 Gig of RAM
Windows XP SP5 OS

I get pretty decent frames... Maybe around 10-20 on FSX. But what kind of hardware upgrades can I get that will increase my frames?

Your processor is the most limiting component... Intel Celeron Duel-Core Processor E1200 (512K Cache, 1.60 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) LGA775 form factor 65 nm case are just about no longer available!

Upgrading processors is dependent on the motherboards chipset. If your chipset is limited to 800 MHz FSB then your looking at a new motherboard. I could only find TWO (2) 800 MHz Celerons available today. Be advised the Microsoft thinks a new motherboard is a new puter and has to be registered.

So... Find out what chipset is on your current motherboard and what are the possible front side bus speeds (FSB).
