When I click Country/Region>State/Province> the cities/airports do not show up in the city field. I don't know how to correct this. Any suggestions? Thanks
It could be one of two things.
1- Your video card isn't rendering the scenery, try shutting down some of the slides like autogen, shadows, clouds and AI.
The sim will look terrible but if you have scenery at it's top setting and it shows up then it's your card.
2- Something is missing, drop in disk #1 and do a repair.
I think I'll try the repair first, but can I do this without changing anything else (downloaded aircraft, etc.)? I don't want to do an uninstall and reinstall cause I think I'd lose a lot of downloaded aircraft. I had this same problem awhile back but unfortunately I don't remember how it was corrected. Thanks for the suggestions.
All a repair will do is fix what is corrupted or missing.
It won't touch anything else.
Basically it's loading FS9 on top of FS9.
thanks for sending along the advice. It got rid of the problem with the cities although I think I created several others along the way but that was my fault. Bottom line is everything in FS9 is now working well. I use five Abacus programs which include aircraft carriers which necessitate getting into the scenery settings and I think I somehow messed that up, but again, all is OK now.
On another note, I've got some problems with FSX which I need to resolve. I purchased FSX when it first came out and could not get it to work because of my older computer at that time. I decided to try it again after upgrading my equipment but I'm still having problems with it. I plan to check the forum to see if I can find any solutions, mainly to correct jerky operation. I've adjusted frame rate and other settings, all to no avail.
Thanks again for the info.
Glad it worked and thanks for letting us know what works and what doesn't
