Piper Turbo Arrow III PA28RT-201

Rick4 Guest

I downloaded and installed the Piper Turbo Arrow III PA28RT-201 by Rien Cornelissen available here: https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/4673/fsx-sp2-piper-turbo-arrow-iii-pa28rt-201/

The aircraft loads fine, but soon the View (pan) command switches from panning to a snap view. This may be occurring shortly after I use the zoom-in/zoom-out controls. In addition, after I end the flight, FSX does not return to the Free Flight screen, and I cannot exit FSX. Instead I have to reboot the PC.

Has anyone experienced this, and is there a solution? I am running MS FSX Gold.

Try deleting that aircraft and all that went with it.
Then try to fly another aircraft.
If the Sim is fine then the aircraft is at fault, get another by someone else.
If it (FSX) crashes again then there is another problem we have to solve.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think it's FSX, since after a reboot FSX works fine and other aircraft do not have the problem. So evidently it's isolated to this particular aircraft.

I did as you said and deleted all files installed from the downloaded zip file for the Piper Arrow. FSX appears to work fine.

Glad that worked.

Try this one.
Same designer but a newer variation that I found on the net.
If you have problems with it my guess is that you have an ATi video card (possibly on a laptop).
They (if a low quality one) have problems with GMAX, the software that the designer used.

Be careful what you download from this site.
The zip file name is p28rtfp.zip (5.72MB) and you should be able to see that when you mouse over the download links.

Good luck and let us know how you do.

Thanks for taking the time to look that up! I do have an ATI Radeon 7970 video card. It's in a PC with a quad-core i7 2700K processor and 16gb of RAM, not a laptop. The machine has run FSX just fine.

Do you think the download you suggested is still worth a try, or is it pretty much just as likely to have the same problem since I have an ATI card?

No way know, were successful at removing the first one so there is no reason to think you couldn't do it again if needed.
The only alternative that I can see is to buy one from Carenado.
