Graphics issues (cont')

Hi all.
A little while ago I posted about an issue with my new NVidia FX5700LE 256Mb graphics card.
Well, a friend of a contact on the net who is this major gaming guru in the USA has assured me that this card is a pile of c**p!!

I have returned the card back to the shop I bought it because I almost agree with him.
I get the very same level of performance with the 5700 that I get with my old ATI Radeon 9200SE.

Anyway, I have been recomended to get the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.

Does anyone have any experience with this card?
A very good source sings it's praises big time.

AND, thank you all very much for your help with this topic 😀

I don't know what your computer system is like, powerful average or struggling.
I have the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 and would only trade it for a new 256 ATI.
It's one of the best cards in the price range, I'm very happy with it and really haven't heard any complaints.
Let us know how you do.

Hi radarman,
thanks for the reply.

I like to think my system is quite powerful.
MSI KT4AV-L mobo
AMD XP2500+ (clock 1800 ish!)
1 GB DDR 400
40 GB 7200rpm Maxtor H Drive

and at the moment, ATI Radeon 9200SE 128 MB graphics.

So resonably good.
I'm told the 9800 will round it off nicely!

So thats 2 recomendations for the 9800!
