I have downloaded Peter Tredre's 707-420 and am having a bit of a problem getting it to appear in FSX running windows 7 Home Premium. I installed it to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\simobjects\Airplanes just like the Installation text file said. However when I do this the aircraft does not appear in the aircraft selection pictures in the FREE FLIGHT listing. The only way I have been able to get the aircraft to appear in the listing is to move the entire folder to the C:\Program Files (x86),\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes. However when I do this the Autopilot does not work at all. I am fairly savvy when it comes to FSX and it's operation including editing files and folders. I wonder if I could be doing some simple thing wrong. The work done on this aircraft is outstanding and is way up there with some of the best designed that I have come across for FSX
It should be in the x86 like you did.
As far as the autopilot see if either one of these help.
Hi Radarman... thanks for the timely reply. I am very familiar with all types of autopilots of many different aircraft but this problem is in the program itself. First the aircraft will not appear in FSX using his instructions. Second, the problem is in the autopilot not working at all. Here is a link to this very aircraft and if you have FSX installed in your computer you can vividly see the problem but you will have to place it in the Program Files (86) in order to see it.
Hi Radarman... The link I gave you might not work. Please try this one and then do a search for SAA 707 in their downloads section.
Scroll down, this may be a better version
Let us know and we will add it to our download section.
