I noticed a post a few weeks ago about when you arrive at an airport there is no option to taxi to a gate. Just taxi for takeoff. If that happens that means that there are no gates avaible to taxi to. You either have to wait or turn down the traffic in options.
Hey MyPilot, that question was actually mine, and the answer wasn't that it was too crowded, it was my impatience when tuning to the ground frequency. You must wait until your aircraft is FULLY across the boundary lines on the runway before tuning, otherwise you will only get taxi-for-takeoff.
Hi.
True piont but i hardly ever play flight sim offline im always on flight sim 04 multiplayer, but you can select wether you wont to start at gates, or ramp's e.t.c, or on multi you can just taxi to gates by your self, but.... why do you wont to taxi to the gates because you wont sit there 2mins as you will get bored as all your doing is just siiting there. Whats the piont.
Well for me, I like to take the definition of "simulator" as far as I can go. To leave passengers at the runway and just complete the flight there would certainly be cruel to them...especially since I had taken them all that way! Also, There are a lot of power-down procedures for the PMDG 737's and PIC ERJ-145 that I fly regularly.
Not only that, but flying for UVA (united virtual airlines), I'm required to taxi to a gate! My flight arrival/departure times are recorded from when the parking break goes off at my starting point, and when the parking break goes back on at my destination. Then there's plenty of fuel that needs to be recorded, logs to fill out, etc. etc.
So while we're on the topic, would someone like to take a stab at my post from the other day? the one about being sent to your actual airline's terminal, instead of to just a random gate?
You put " To leave passengers at the end of the runway is cruel for me" how is it as theres no flight sim passengers on flight sim 04 but ive got my fingers crossed that there gonna put passengers on the new flight sim.
Anyways you put "leaving passengers at the end of thr runway is curel"
1. taxi to the gates anyways,
2. with your flying thell be jumped out 😛 joking

No, I was fully across the boundary line. I noticed that an airplane left and that is when I got the option of taxing to the gate. I was in a 747 in Hawaii and so there arn't that many "heavy" gates.
Ohhhh, okay. My mistake MyPilot! I'll keep that in mind next time i'm flying to the smaller airports (like SDF and BUF) and don't get a message to taxi to the gate. I just assumed the not-pulling-off-the-runway thing was a universal problem in all of my cases, but you're right!
Much 'obliged for the advice!
