ILS approach Descent Rate

Hello,
quick question about ILS landing....
I understand that ILS is used to allign the aircraft to the runway. but I was being told that, when you are ILS approaching, it also adjusts the descent level of the plane to have a center line touchdown from a far distance when you are in Auto Pilot and you have the approach hold button turned on. Just wondering if this is true???

Yes, the Approach mode in the Auto-Pilot will adjust your descent rate. Also it will stay aligned with the localizer so you are in the correct position.
