Why would I lose the cockpit instrumentation panel on the Cessna when I check the anti-aliasing block on the setup screen? Instead of the gauges showing, it becomes a black screen where the instrumentation should be. Everything else remains the same. Doesn't the anti-aliasing smooth out the graphics? Maybe I am using too much memory or my 5200 Geforce Graphics card can't handle the increased workload. I am just trying to maximize my realism and smooth out the graphics when I run FS9.
These are the specs of my computer:
Dell Dimension 4600 Series Intel Pentium 4 Processor @ 2.66GHz
512 MB SDRAM @ 333MHz
128MB DDR NVidia GeForce FX 5200 graphics card
Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 1
I may even have 4 on the floor and a Hemi as far I know. 🙄 😂
See if this post helps you, If not we'll pursue the matter further.

I still have a straight 6 and push button automatic in my 57 Dodge. 🙄
When I un-check the anti-aliasing box, my cockpit gauges reappear. What exactly does the anti-aliasing do? Does it smooth out the graphics as they are being drawn on the screen?
It takes away (theoretically) the "jaggies", yes it is supposed to smooth it.
That's why we by better end better cards.
Don't (ever) have the AA box checked in the settings of the sim.
Just use the cards control panel for adjustments.\
Thanks Radarman. I'll heed your advice. BTW, you do excellent work on this forum 🍻
Let us know if it works and thank you very much, I enjoy the
