It's the high LOD (Level Of Detail) that gives you a major FPS hit.
Many of the great fighter jets seem to have this, that what makes them look so good.

This one was murder on my FPS but one of the most detailed aircraft I've seen, very popular.

I just flew it. The takeoff was hard. The Mirage period is hard to fly. I wanted to see if I could open the door while in flight. It turns out, that is how you eject! Laughing Razz
