I use it whenever I fly a glider. Press Y. It makes you move really quickly to a different location.

Press "y" to initiate slew and then again to turn it off.

Pess "F4" to climb and "F1" to decend.

Slew is a fast way to travel, cheat, to get the glider into the air [besides thermals] and I like to use it for the Pushback because it provides a more realistic option than the "Shift P" [pushback] option.

This is a case where slew apparently means something different in flight slim than it does in real aviation.

In aviation, slew is the movement around the aircraft axis that results when the rudder is deflected but the ailerons are either not deflected or are deflected in an inappropriate amount or direction. It is uncoordinated flight that results in the nose being turned away from the direction of flight without a concurrent turn.

In level flight, slew can be used for tracking a course requiring a correction for wind drift. In landing, a slew can be used to correct for crosswind or, when opposite rudder is also used, it can be used to lose altitude at a more rapid than normal rate. In the latter case, the manuever is called a slip.
