traffic radar

crosscheck9 Guest

What exactly do I have to do to get the traffic radar to work. I downloaded FSUIPC and placed the the .dll file in the modules section..as far as I know, thats it...but it still fails to work. Can someone offer a few tips please.

To be absolutly sue fly in an area with tons of traffic and if it doesnt pick it up, then the radar isnt working because you already have an application using the FSUIPC. so find the app. that is using the FSUIPC and delete it.

well, to find the add-on, go to avsim, and type in "traffic" - search category is fs2004 gauges

OK this is the same one I have is very easy to install.

1. Copy the TCASv7.dll & the TCASv7 into your main fs9 folder. Copy the ILH_TCAS.gau into your gauge folder.

2) Open up the 'panel.cfg' file of the aircraft you wish to install the TCAS II 7.0 into.

3) Locate the last gauge line for the MAIN_PANEL Window. The Main Panel Window usually starts with [Window00]. It's 'ident=' might be something other than 'MAIN_PANEL'. Anyway, here's an example...

[Window00]
file=GULF.BMP
size_mm=1024
window_size_ratio=1.000
position=1
visible=1
ident=MAIN_PANEL
window_size= 1.000, 1.000
window_pos= 0.000, 0.000

gauge00=GM_STBYATTITUDE, 910,447,89,89
gauge01=GV.APANUN, 296,352,175,121
gauge02=BAC111.SLIPSKID, 925,493,60,59
gauge03=737-200.altimeter, 900,539,109,110

.
.
.
gauge56=rp_2_n2, 740,615,80,79
gauge57=rp_2_ff, 740,682,80,79
gauge58=737-400!Rudder Trim Indicator, 820,46,84,28

4) Directly below the last gauge line that's in your file, copy and paste in the following...

gaugeXX=ILH_TCAS!Logic, 0, 0, 1, 1

Change the XX to whatever the number of the last gauge was in your file +1 [58+1=59].

It should now look similar to this...

gauge56=rp_2_n2, 740,615,80,79
gauge57=rp_2_ff, 740,682,80,79
gauge58=737-400!Rudder Trim Indicator, 820,46,84,28
gauge59=ILH_TCAS!Logic, 0, 0, 1, 1

5) Now, similar to the step above find out what your the last WindowXX number is. These are in the [Window Titles] section and it is usually at the top of the panel.cfg file. Example...

[Window Titles]
Window00=Main Panel
Window01=GPS
Window02=Throttle Quadrant
Window03=Annunciator
Window04=Radio Stack
Window05=Compass

As you can see the last Window number in this panel is 05. Again, add 1 to the number and make an entry per the following...

WindowXX=TCAS II 7.0

It should now look something like this...

[Window Titles]
Window00=Main Panel
Window01=GPS
Window02=Throttle Quadrant
Window03=Annunciator
Window04=Radio Stack
Window05=Compass
Window06=TCAS II 7.0

6) Now for the final step! We are going to add the actual TCAS II 7.0 Window. In my panel.cfg the last window was Window05=Compass. Here is the entry for this Window in my panel.cfg...

//--------------------------------------------------------
[Window05]
file=Compass.bmp
size_mm=70
window_size_ratio=1.000
position=2
visible=0
ident=COMPASS_PANEL
window_size= 0.098, 0.112
window_pos= 0.772, 0.220

gauge00=Magnetic_Compass!Magnetic-Compass, 0,0,70

You need to locate the one in your panel.cfg file and then directly below it add a carriage return or two[press Enter on your keyboard]. Then add the following. Just highlight my example below and use copy and paste and then change the XX to whatever your Window number should be. Of course it should match the same number that you assigned to it in the '[Window Titles]' section in Step #7 above.

//--------------------------------------------------------
[WindowXX]
size_mm=228,248
window_size_ratio=1.00
position=2
visible=0
ident=10006

gauge00=ILH_TCAS!IVSI, 0, 0, 158, 158
gauge01=ILH_TCAS!Transponder, 0, 159, 228, 89

I ened up with the following, yours should look similar...

.
.
.
//--------------------------------------------------------
[Window05]
file=Compass.bmp
size_mm=70
window_size_ratio=1.000
position=2
visible=0
ident=COMPASS_PANEL
window_size= 0.098, 0.112
window_pos= 0.772, 0.220

gauge00=Magnetic_Compass!Magnetic-Compass, 0,0,70

//--------------------------------------------------------
[Window06]
size_mm=250
window_size_ratio=1.00
position=2
visible=0
ident=10006
window_pos= 0.80

gauge00=ILH_TCAS!IVSI, 0, 0, 158, 158
gauge01=ILH_TCAS!Transponder, 0, 159, 228, 89

//--------------------------------------------------------
[Vcockpit01]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=512,512
visible=0

WOW!!! thats one hell of a reply. Thanks alot Liono. I appreciate your help. Hey, the radar thing came up, but none of the aircraft ever appeared on it. Am I missing something. Again, thanks for everything. Surprised

Well on the pop up you have to turn the transponder on by switching it to TA or TA/RA and you do this by left click or right clicking over the switch. And to adjust the range you go over the range switch and right or left click on it.

I tried what you said but it still didn't work. I even tried the TCAS test, and it said "TCAS Test - Failed" I had squawed the right code and everything. Sad
