Dampens the yaw 😛

It 'softens' the amount of yaw that the plane will experiance. Yaw is basically left/right movement controlled by the rudder.

It makes for a more comfortable ride for the passengers aswell 😉

At higher speeds, it makes the rudder pedals less sensitive....so if you use rudder pedals, it takes more input to do same thing as with Yaw damper off.
