Just in the process of getting flight sim just wondering best settings for it
I have a
sempron 3100
Nvidia fx 5500 256 md card
1280mb ram
just a bit new to this, had game once before on my old comp and never played as performance was crap, hope this spec is ok to play at a decent level
Any help appreciated.

The computer specs seem to be good but the video card is getting old.
I would go into settings and leave them all at default and see what your FPS reading is, press shift+Z two or three times and you'll get two lines of red flight information at the top of the screen. Your FPS will be in the second line.

If is too low, go back to settings and turn off water, terrain, shadows and reflections.
Turn down traffic and put clouds as low as possible while still enjoying it.
Lock your FPS at 27-30.

You'll get better FPS away from airports and cities because of all the heavy graphics.

Let us know how you do.

Yes, it is an entirely different sim with upgraded hardware.

Make sure that you disable Antialiasing (AA) within the display settings in the sim, since your videa card will take care of this at a much faster pace than FS2004.
