There is a jej blue A320 with a nose gear locked sidways instead of forward in the LA area Burbank to NY. They are getting ready for an emergency landing (probably LAX).
Will let you know how it goes. It is on TV out here. Wish them luck.
what channel?
7 (ABC) It is jet blue flt 292. It is being diverted to Long Beach.
Now heading to LAX
145 passengers on the plane. They are getting ready at LAX, the city fire dept is also on alert. From what I can see, the gear is fully down, but the nose gear is 90 degrees to the long axis of the plane.
They will land on 25L at LAX as soon as they have burned off enough fuel. The A320 has no provision to juttison fuel.
how long will it before it lands?
They are now saying it will be in a few minutes. Probably before the sun gets too low. But, it is the pilot's call.
fox doing emergency coverage now/ sun is in pilots eyes
WHY DONT THEY FOAM THE RUNWAY
GOD SPEED
you know this happend to me but it was no big deel for us no fire or emergency vehicles. but the nose gear was not sideways
12 miles out.
On the ground. Good landing. gear did not collapse. burned away the tires, though. Buy the crew a drink.
One final note. The nose gear stayed right on the center line even though the wheels were worn down to the strut.
Excellent stuff!
This calls for a drink!
lets have another party! 😛

What's that? I didn't hear you.
Great to hear everyone's ok from the jetBlue flight.
That was a SMOOTH landing. I was on VATSIM in Washington DC's airspace (ORD-IAD-BOS flight), and so I was listening to the controllers/pilots update everyone on the situation. Impressive!
My best firnd was flying jet blue.... i want to find out if that was his plane. Hes a good piolt.

And i bet that your friends grandfather was Charles Lindbergh... 😉
OOF! I just read what happened there, (due to time difference) That was some landing. I'd like to see some sort of interview the pilot/first officer of the aircraft. There we go - Finally, a happy ending to a strickin flight. Very well done Captain - Wherever you are.
