Why can't you install your Sidewinder joystick on XP then?

I would have expected XP to have the drivers for it built in.

🤔 Like the man says you don't have to uninstall XP just to get the drivers back.
All you have to do is delete the joystick from the device manager, reboot and Windows will recognize the stick.
Here is Sidewinders web-site with further drivers if you need them.
I have the Sidewinder in XP home and it works fine.

David, do you think we will be seeing VC10 at the FS2004 National Show? Great to see big things are happening in the UK isnt it? 🙂

My son uses this joystick. I just plugged it in and Windows XP detected and installed it. It works fine. This is Windows XP Pro version not Home so it obviously works in both versions.

Yes we are exhibiting at the show. We have stand number 1 which is next to VatSim and the RAF I believe. We are currently listed as "TenWeb" which is actually my site dedicated to the real aircraft rather than our sim. I should get that changed! Hopefully we will have a Trident to show off too by then.

It's great that this is happening in the UK although London would have been somewhat more convenient for us "darn sarf" in Surrey 🙂

I've been using XP Pro and MS Force Feedback for quite sometime now...no problems. You should be able to use the drivers from XP or you can also install the software as well...so you can use the Sidewinder console to fine tune the sensitivites etc. 😛
