Memory Check

I'm trying to determine whether any of my RAM modules is defective and I'm wondering if there might be a site that runs checks of that kind.

Can anyone tell me how to have my RAM checked for faults - perhaps by way of a link to a site?
Any suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

Windows offers one here http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
You create a bootable disk that will run 6 memory tests for you.

good Luck

Try This:
Click on the Start button
Then click 'Control Panel'
Double Click on the icon that says 'System'
The system properties should come up. Your RAM is near the bottom of the new pop up window that appeared.

Hi folks,

thank you all very much for once again helping the 'eternal noob' out of a tight spot 😀

Have run a couple of tests so far without detecting any problems in the 'memory' despite my constant Wall Bashing Wall Bashing Wall Bashing

So, thanks again - this one's on me

The best way is to remove all the sticks but one, boot up, and see if it works.

SiSoft Sandra is meant to be good at testing all hardware, not just your memory

This looks good, thanks.

Who/What is Sandra?

SiSoftware Sandra (the System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) is an information & diagnostic utility. It should provide most of the information (including undocumented) you need to know about your hardware, software and other devices whether hardware or software.

Sandra is a (girl) name of Greek origin that means "defender", "helper of mankind". We think that's quite fitting.
