I have a question that I hope can be answered here--
I noted that some developers launching FSX add-on aircraft software are specifically recommending the FSX Acceleration or Gold versions of the sim as a requirement. I am running FSX basic. The prices for the FSX Acceleration/ Gold and Steam versions are ridiculously high! Am I going to have to 'upgrade' at some point? Is there any software that I can utilize to upgrade my FSX version?
Thanks in advance for your kind assistance.[/quote]
Learn about SP1 and SP2 patches here.
With them you can use other aircraft and also get better performance out of your computer.

Check on Amazon for used Gold, that way you will have not only the latest (and final) version but SP1 and SP2 are already built in.
