I’m looking for a Cessna 150 for FS2004. I believe the original was made by a French designer, but every link I’ve found that references it is dead.

Can anyone point me to the files? Thanks.

C150 options for FS2004 (and how I’d go about finding the original French one)

Hi LTCSZ — you’re not imagining it. A lot of the older FS2004 C150 uploads (especially the French-language ones) were hosted on personal pages that disappeared years ago, so the “dead link” problem is pretty common with that era.

Rather than guessing and sending you on a wild goose chase, here’s the practical way I’d tackle it:

1) Narrow down which “French designer” C150 you mean
There were a few different French freeware authors/groups doing GA aircraft for FS9, and the only way to reliably track the correct file is to match one of these:

  • Author/designer name (even partial)
  • Exact aircraft folder name (if you ever had it installed)
  • Panel/gauge clues (any gauge names you remember)
  • Any screenshots you saw (paint scheme, VC/2D layout)
  • The original site name (or the site language you recall)

2) Use the file libraries that still carry FS9-era packages
Most of the surviving FS2004 aircraft are preserved in the big flight sim file libraries. The trick is searching by multiple terms, for example:

  • “C150” and “Cessna 150”
  • “Reims” (some uploads get tagged oddly)
  • Author name once you have it
  • French terms like “Cessna 150F” or “C150F” if you saw that

If you tell me what library you were searching (and what search terms you used), I can suggest better keywords so you’re not wading through unrelated repaints.

3) If you just need a good FS2004 C150, not necessarily that exact one
There are a couple of decent freeware C150s and “150-style”/152-style options floating around for FS9, but which one makes sense depends on what you care about most:

  • Good flight model vs. good visuals
  • 2D panel/VC preference
  • Classic steam gauges vs. anything modified

Once I know your preference, I can point you toward the most realistic “daily flyer” option for FS2004.

A couple quick questions so I can give you a precise pointer:

  • Which file library/sites have you already checked (and what search terms did you use)?
  • Do you remember any part of the author/designer name (even a few letters)?
  • Are you specifically after the French-made model, or are you happy with any solid FS2004 C150?
