Thrustmaster TCA Officer Pack Airbus edition compatibility?

Hi all, I got my hands on a Thrustmaster Airbus joystick and quadrant set recently and I've been trying to configure it to work with my FSX software for a while. Its compatibility with the program aside, I can't seem to be able to get the whole set to work together as some buttons on the joystick are labeled the exact same as the quadrant (Button 2 on the joystick changes plane view but Button 2 on the quadrant is assigned to flaps) so when I try to do basically anything, some unrelated control surface moves and I have to pause the sim to try and understand what went wrong. Is there ANY way to get these to devices to work together? Any help would be appreciated.
