United Airlines flight 923 today was diverted to Logan ((home airport)) from Heathrow bound to Dulles. A women was found tied in back of the 767 with a screw driver, matches, water (from the airline), and a note from Al Quidea. Before landing there were two Fighter Jets that were scrammbled for an escort to Logan. All 182 pax are off the 767 and all there luggage is being screened. All pax and luggage will be checked before there final stop in Dulles. This is all horrible. 2 pax helped restrain the women. The jets were from Lotus Air Force Base. (thats what it sounded like)

A slightly different version:

Fighter jets escorted a diverted London-to-Dulles Ineternational Airport, flight to Boston's Logan airport Wednesday after a distraught passenger pulled out a screw driver, matches, Vaseline and a note referencing al-Qaida (website - news) , an airport spokesman said.

A little more accurate description from CNN

BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- Fighter jets escorted a diverted London-to-Washington, D.C., flight to Boston's Logan airport Wednesday after a distraught passenger pulled out a screw driver, matches, Vaseline and a note referencing al-Qaeda, an airport spokesman said.

The question now is how this passenger got this stuff on board. After all the recent events, airports still only have an illusion of security.

Now, it appears that authorities are denying that the passenger had any of those things. Can anyone say cover-up? ( Or maybe news companies are incompetent)

A mixture of both. News companies creating stories out of something minimal for publicity with a touch of the authorities denying responsibility for anything - its what makes the world go round 😉

"An airport spokesman was quoted as saying she was carrying a screwdriver, matches, Vaseline and a note referring to al-Qaeda - but this was subsequently denied."

It's so stupid, even if she had them.
1. Matches- allowed
2. Vaseline-Newly Banned (The deadly lip de-chapper)
3. Screwdriver- Allowed if shorter than 7 inches.
4. Note- paper, what did it say? I'll un-chap your lips, I mean it!

I believe what actually happened is that the women was claustraphobic and had a bit of a fight with the cabin crew.

Above is the story.

None of the stories about the note are correct.
Just a question? How did she get the hand cream on board? So much for tight security at Heathrow! 😳

Airport security is largely, a myth. It is a bunch of going through the motions so people feel secure....whether they actually are or not.

I just don't want a terrorist attack taking place on an aircraft that I'm flying and I still think that flying is the most secure way of travelling. 😀

I am actually less worried about the plane than the airport itself. There are a lot of people in a terminal and a good distance between the entrance and where baggage is checked.
