OK - I was thoroughly unimpressed with the first demo, and had more-or-less made up my mind to stick with dear old FS2004.....but decided (wisely) to download the latest demo, and there's me chugging away at it thinking "This is waayyyyyy better".......so my faith is restored and have pre-ordered FSX Deluxe.....
.....BUT - have Microsoft limited FSX for XP?
I know that it is "Optimized" for Foghorn or Leghorn or whatever the hell it's called (Yeah, I know it's Vista, but I enjoyed writying the joke, even if you didn't laugh).....but I'm running this on a decent spec machine (3Ghz, 1Gb RAM, 128Mb Graphice etc etc) and I'm SURE I should be getting more graphics power out of it than I am at the moment......
I have tried tweaking with varying success, but have come to the conclusion that even if you have a 4Ghz machine with 2Gb RAM and 1Gb Graphics and nothing else running whatsoever, you will still only get limited performance out of FSX if you are using XP......
Has anyone else felt this?
🙂
They (MS) always build the sim ahead of the computer power and by the time the machine comes out that can run it...they introduce a new sim.
Yeah, the new demo is far and away a better version....but wait.... TIME OUT??? YGBSM!! I only get to fly for 15 minutes and it times out?? What's the deal with that nonsense?

To keep people from using the demo for the next two years instead of buying FS?
