I've wanted to become a glider pilot for a long time, but I can't seem to master it in the sim. Could somebody explain to me how to stay in the thermal and get altitude? I can get in the thermal for a few seconds, but I always get right out. I'm using a lot of rudder like it says, but I just can't keep it tight enough to stay in the thermal.
Any help would be appreciated.

but FSX is not very realistic, condor soaring simulator is much better for glider pilots.

So... are you a real glider pilot then? If you are, how close does the sim actually come. The whole thermal issue seems to be boggling me, so if it's not that hard to catch a thermal in real life, that would be reassuring.
There's a few places here in Florida that cater to gliders and was hoping to get in one in the next few years.
