Anyone checkout the AN-24 yet? It is the same quality as the TU-114. A complete pachage: VC cockpit, cabin all!! Very nice. All russian gauges. Funky REAL FUNKY autopilot and nav sys.

Oh yeah! The window wipers work and the side windows open.

Hi elkinallen - I downloaded this one from flightsim.com - has a lot of bits and pieces on it. Had a helluva job getting it off the ground (mainly because I didn't read the Instruction File Embarassed ). To prove that I did here it is -

Found that reaction to the joystick was a bit sluggish but the keyboard reaction was very sensitive. The sounds were great.
Here is a screenshot of the various exits on keying the different assigned keys. Hit one key combination and the bloody thing went into reverse (can't remember which combination it was Embarassed )

The pilots's window is open too but not too clear in this size of s/shot.
It is all a bit cumbersome for my taste - like radarman I'm a taildragger at heart

Hi radarman - avsim is still a nogo area for me - yes, I've turned off my Firewall, made it a trusted site, enabled ftp etc, etc, etc and still can't download from there 🙄 - so just don't bother anymore. The one I downloaded from flightsim.com is the exact same a/c and as I say elsewhere, it is a bit cumbersome for me - very difficult to turn round on a sixpence (nickel - USA/UK - 2 countries separated by a common language 😂 )

There probably are some on the Russian sites but none here that I could find except this 2002 version if you want to try it.

Antonov An-22 Antheus

ant_an22.zip

And this military 2004 version. Knowing you you'll take parts from both and build the super 22.

I don't know what year this is for or if it's a duplicate of one of the others.

davec,
That is so odd even with your firewall disabled you can't connect.
They let you sign up, that worked but downloading won't.
Did you lower your security and accept cookies in your browser? Ermm...

I have lowered my machine security so low that a cross-eyed elephant could get in without touching the sides Crying or Very sad .... and before anyone tells me - I get back to my usual settings as soon as I get out of avsim.
Recently spent 2 hours in avsim download forum and went through all the complaints on downloading difficulties - about 16 pages - so it would appear that I am not the only one having problems. avsim experts give all the usual advice to lower your security settings etc, etc and will not accept that there is anything wrong with their end. I know that many simmers download from avsim without a problem but can't believe that all those simmers lower their security to the lengths required by avsim.
I have downloaded a variety of files from various sites with no problems whatsoever and no need to turn of Firewalls, etc. It is no great problem when I know the name of the file as I can download from flyaway or other FS sites (with no hassle) Problem arises when authors use avsim as their sole distributor - are they aware of the download problem at avsim (re the avsim forum) I suggest that it might restrict the circulation of their freeware. I am also very dubious of a site which recommends reducing the security of your PC for any purpose. Take for instance our own site, you can download with none of the hassle of avsim. Why the difference? I have now got into the habit of running Ad-aware and Spybot when I have been on the avsim site - just in case and have now deleted avsim from my favourite places list!!!

davec,
It's tough to figure out why.
My settings aren't that low, I use XP's firewall and a pop-up-stopper neither of which I disable for avsim.
The reason why I link to them so much is because flightsim isn't that easy for people to get into and simvation doesn't have to selection that the other two have.
I also have Mozilla Firefox, I only use it for slow sites, why don't you download that or Opera and use it only for avsim and see if one of them will work for you.
They are small downloads, you just click on their icon instead of the IE icon and tell the window that you don't want to make it your default browser.

Hi radarman - took your advice and downloaded Mozillla and
Group Wave
downloaded my first a/c from avsim with no problems at all.
Will have to have a serious look at my IE6 - I think that is the real culprit - but there again why only with avsim. BTW none of the experts in the avsim forum has ever suggested Mozilla as a solution. Just goes to show that our experts are better than theirs - something I always knew 😉
Think I could get attached to Mozilla - I have stuck with MS/Windows/MIE for so long now - it's just become a habit.
Thanks a lot radarman - you have made my system that bit more flexible and taught an old dog some new tricks

Fantastic!!! 👏
I won't leave IE but I will use Mozilla for the purposes that I stated.
You know you can use them both at the same time.
Since you are stuck with dial-up download with MZ while posting here or surfing with IE.
I am really pleased, you have an excellent new source for "toys". 👍

Do you have,,,, what information do you have for the explanation of the nav eqpt?!?! I printed out the doc. that came with the plane, but the plane has eqpt. that differs from what is in the aircraft. In any case, it does not explain how to use it!!
