Why is The North of England so poorly supported scenerywise?

The place is a Gem, it has world heritage sites outstanding scuptures visible from the air.
More castles than anywhere else on the planet, Historic bridges, notable buildings.
The area has been used in more movies than you can shake a stick at.
Its coastline goes from rugged beaches to sandy shores so fine you cannot hold it in you hand more than a few moments, the sand is so fine.
Home of Hogwarts, Iconic stadiums in the City have hosted the Olympics (football) the Rugby World cup, European Champions cup, Europa Cup Athletics where numerous have been set, and home of the great north run, and Newcastle Race course.
This is the home of the steam train an gas turbine engine, the electric light and Necastle, Durham Sunderland and Northumria Universities.
