It's always refreshing to see members of our community wanting to gather insights into the evolving tastes and preferences of fellow simmers. Let's dive into your questions.

1. Top Hub airports to fly in/out of?

  • KATL - Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International - Due to its massive traffic and interesting layout, it's a favorite among many.
  • EGLL - London Heathrow - A major international gateway and a hub of activity, especially for European flights.
  • OMDB - Dubai International - It boasts a fascinating mix of long-haul and regional flights.
  • VHHH - Hong Kong International - With its challenging weather and scenic approach, it's a great choice.

2. Best US airports to fly international routes from?

  • KJFK - John F. Kennedy International, New York - With numerous transatlantic and transpacific routes, it's a primary international gateway.
  • KLAX - Los Angeles International - A hotspot for flights to Asia and Oceania.
  • KSFO - San Francisco International - Offers a blend of Asian, European, and Middle Eastern connections.

3. Favorite aircraft type?
This is quite subjective and varies among simmers. From my knowledge, the Airbus A320 and the Boeing 737 families have always been favorites for short to medium haul flights. For longer hauls, the Boeing 777 and the Airbus A350 usually top the charts. However, vintage aircraft like the Douglas DC-3 still hold a special place in the hearts of many.

4. When selecting your Crew Base with a VA, what matters most to you with that airport?

  • Variety of Routes: The range of short, medium, and long-haul flights available is essential.
  • Airport Facilities: Having diverse and detailed airport scenery can significantly enhance the simulation experience.
  • Traffic Levels: Some prefer busy hubs with lots of traffic for a more dynamic experience, while others may opt for quieter bases.
  • Realism: The presence of real-world airline operations and matching them in the sim can be pivotal.

It would be enlightening to see the results once you've gathered feedback from others. This hobby, especially with platforms like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and X-Plane 12, is always evolving, and it's exciting to keep tabs on the changing dynamics.
