LLBG does not work in FSX. Does anyone know why?

LLBG scenery not showing/working in FSX – a few quick checks
LLBG can “not work” in FSX for a bunch of different reasons (wrong sim version, wrong install method, missing library objects, scenery layered under defaults, etc.). Here’s how I’d narrow it down.
1) Confirm what “not working” means
Pick the one that matches:
- Airport isn’t there at all / still default FSX airport
- Airport layout is there but buildings are missing (empty apron)
- FSX crashes or hangs when loading the area
- Elevations are wrong (plateaus / sinkholes)
2) Make sure it’s actually activated and in the right order
In FSX go to Settings > Scenery Library:
- Verify the LLBG entry is checked
- If the developer provided separate folders (often “Airport” and “Photoscenery”), make sure both are added if required
- Move LLBG higher than any large-area photo/landclass packages you might have for Israel/Middle East (those can override airports if layered above)
After changes, let FSX rebuild the scenery database.
3) Check for duplicate/conflicting AFCADs
A very common FSX issue is another file “wins” and you end up with a default or broken airport.
- Search your FSX install for files containing “LLBG” (or “BG” if the package uses odd naming) in
\Scenery\folders - If you find multiple LLBG airport .bgls (especially in
...\Addon Scenery\sceneryor in another scenery’s folder), temporarily disable the extra one(s) by renaming extension to .OFF (example:something.bgl.OFF)
4) Dependencies / object libraries
If you get runways/taxiways but no terminals/buildings, that usually points to missing object libraries that the scenery expects. Some LLBG packages rely on common library packs, and if those aren’t installed you’ll see a “bare” airport.
5) FSX version and install method
Some sceneries are made for FSX:SE vs boxed, or for P3D and won’t behave correctly in FSX (or the installer points to the wrong directory). If it’s an installer-based product, double-check it targeted your real FSX root folder.
A few quick questions so we can nail this down
- Which FSX are you on: boxed or Steam Edition?
- What LLBG scenery is it (developer/name/version), and how did you install it (manual add to library or an .exe installer)?
- When you load at LLBG, do you see the default airport, or do you see some changes but missing buildings?
- Any other Israel/Middle East scenery installed (photo scenery, landclass, mesh), and where do those sit in your Scenery Library order?
