Asked

Greetings,

About 3 months ago I bought the Cessna 182, and I’m just now getting back into MSFS 2024. I installed it in:

C:\Users\roman\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community

However, I also see another folder here:

C:\Users\roman\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community2024

Should I put a copy of Cessna182 in that folder too?

Best regards,
Roman Toledo Casabona

Hi Roman,

Nope — don’t put a second copy in Community2024.

MSFS will only load add-ons from the one Community folder that belongs to the active “Packages” location your sim is actually using. If you duplicate an aircraft across two Community folders you can end up with odd stuff later (duplicate entries, conflicting files, strange update behavior, etc.).

What I’d do

  1. Leave the C182 only in the folder it’s in now:
    C:\Users\roman\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community

  2. Do not copy it to:
    ...\LocalCache\Packages\Community2024

  3. If the aircraft isn’t showing in-sim, then we need to confirm which Packages path MSFS 2024 is currently pointed at (that’s the only Community folder that matters).

A couple quick questions so I can point you 100% correctly

  • Is the Cessna 182 currently showing up in the aircraft list and loading normally?
  • Did you buy/install the C182 via the in-sim Marketplace, or was it a third-party installer/manual zip?
  • Did you ever change your MSFS 2024 “Packages” location during install (for example to another drive), or has it always been the default under ...\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\?

Answer those and I’ll tell you exactly which folder MSFS 2024 is reading on your setup and what that Community2024 folder is doing there.
