An A36 with two aboard took off from KSMO and shortly thereafter, radioed that there was serious engine trouble. The plane went down in Santa Monica Bay killing both people on board. The plane went down in about 20 ft. of water just off the beach at Santa Monica. The plane was brought ashore and looked remarkably intact.
