Because for a tsunami, the sea flor must move enought to elevate the ocean level, as in the south east of asia one year ago.

CaptainWell, i heard that the scale was about 7,2 richter, and that the US tsunami alert center cancelled all suspects of a tsunami heading NZ coasts. 🙂
