Too suck, or not too suck, that is the question?

Lets wait until FSX comes out before we add up the PROs and CONs for other people, but would you rather your "pimped" out FS9 with like GE PRO, ActiveSky. . . .etc or would you rather spend loads on buying computer hardware, just for a simulator?

I'm not touching FSX until vista comes out, until then its just a slightly modified FS9, my modded FS9 is 20times better so far.

I plan to buy a new computer built for Vista when the time comes.

All I need is a Dual Core CPU & a directX10 GFX. I'll have to wait until the price comes. Just take a look at the new Nvidia & ATI cards. Expensive. I expect the newer cards to cost even more.

With my pimped out FS9 I'm going to stick to old faithfull here.

With the following add-ons
Active Sky
Flight Environment
GE Pro
Real Environment <<Brilliant freeware addon

Who needs FSX.

Well I'm with you all, I'm happy with fs9, and until I know whether my setup is DX10 and Vista compatible, I shall stay with fs9. And if later I find that I need an expensive card replacement, then I shall remain with old faithful.

My reasons being, Vista won't be free, FSX is not free, and then have to buy another card(s) to run it all. My small income won't stand the strain. My plastic is already melting. 🙄 🙄 🙂

I regret leaving good ol' FS9 for something new, but FSX is going to have things taht you won't be able to add to FS9.

Like a NASA super computer. The thing is as well. You want be able to have all the bells & whistles playing untill Nvidia & ATI release thier DirectX10 GFX. Which won't be around till early or mid 2007.

I can see a lot of kids asking there parents for super computers and the grown ups re-moraging there house just to run FSX at max.

This is truely a mad, mad world we live in.

I agree with mypilot.
Something new is always something new.
Even though most of us have a load of add-ons Freeware and Payware ones installed in FS9,i guess that we are not going to leave the chance to give a try with FSX...

With the danger to be repeatable i would suggest patience,patience,patience....
Lets get FSX,Install it and run it.After this we shall see what we should buy or not(i mean H/W stuff)...

My opinion from the Demo was that ,compare to FS9, has reach almost the 70% of the quality my FS has ,which if full of payware scenery and texture add-ons...And its a Demo...So???...Lets wait before we jump to any kind of conclussions... Idea

Besides...Patience is a virtue... ➡

Of course this is only my humble opinion Dont Know

I just uninstalled FS9 and reinstalled it with only 2 aircraft (pay) no scenery.
I'm keeping it small and will load FSX when it comes out.
My machine won't be able to handle it at default ( I feel) but I want it anyway.
A new machine when Vista is ready.

😁 Glad you asked.

I may add one of these, I like to fly low and slow.

A game has a beginning and an end.
In games you can run out of options.
In games you have to do it, play it the way it was built, with one purpose.

This is a simulator, you can go on forever creating new scenarios for yourself.
It's a never ending "creation" this software we call FS9.

Game.

Less a game than an immersive virtual environment

People had asked for a YEAR as I counted, for a better this and a better that. Not to sound mean, but, it seems that now that we have it, we don’t want it. As I See It: we all are complaining about what we asked for. It is going to run slower because its more advance. We wanted better things, so we are going to have to compromise.....Does anyone else fell the same way? Once Again, I DO NOT want to sound harsh!

I think we all passionate fans of FS should restraint ourselves from buying this game straightaway, ofcourse I agree with the previous post that we complain about wanting something better and then when it does come out we complain that the better stuff may not be as good as we may want it...

I think I'll be patient and buy a super charged PC or laptop before I buy FS X sometime next year. Like someone has said in this thread, FS9 isnt so bad with its add-ons...in any case for simmers in India we'll probably have to wait for quality add ons as Microsoft has ignored Bombay as it did in the past.

Looking back I think if I waited for a year like after FS2004 was released, I could have afforded a higher spec comp for almost half the price that I bought at the time FS2004 was released (mid 2003). The higher spec comp would have run my sim much more smoothly and I would also paid a much lower price for FS 2004...
....all said & done Im too passionate about the sim and couldnt wait then and may not wait now !!! Giving in to temptation is best pleasure one can enjoy in life !!!
