Guys,

I AM CONFUSED!!

I have just seen a Sapphire Radeon X1600 PRO, with 512mb memory for £70.00.

I currently have a Nvidia 6500gt with only 256mb memory but which cost me a lot more money.

I, like everyone else, want FSX to run better. Is this card going to be any good or run it better than what i currently have?
What am i missing here?????? 😕 😕 😕 😕 😕

Please help!!

Micah 😉

The x1600pro does have 512MB, but its an average performing card.Too be honest its not much of an upgarde from what you have.

But surely, wouldnt a card with 512mb memory far outperform one that only has 256mb?

Please explain!!

Thanks for your help

Amount of memory alone is not a true indication of performance. For instance a x1600 XT 256MB will outperform an x1600PRO 512MB. The x1600PRO 512MB might outperform your old card in certain things, but the 1600PRO is a very average performing card. The XT version is superior, but Nvidia 7600GT will outperform them both.

thanks for your reply. I may order one as it is such a small price and see what the difference is.

Could be interesting. I would just like to improve the rates slightly which i think it would probably do.
