What exactly is this thing? I've heard of it and it gives your computer a score of somekind and you can download it. If so, can someone give me the link?

Answered

Basically all you are doing is benchmarking the performance of the hardware in you computer, you can later match it up to like kinds to see where you can improve it.

It's a benchmark that is supposed to isolate your graphics, sound and CPU subsystems with game-like sound and graphic benchmarks (meaning its kinda fun to watch it do its thing).

After its done it gives you a score, and a place to post your results on the internet, and compare your scores to other machines of similar (or not so similar) configuration.

I like it, but its not a small download - 3DMark03 was like 128 MB, I gotta think 3DMark06 is even bigger.

Yes, and wait until you see some of the fantastic videos, if your card is able to do justice to them.

Here are a few lesser benchmark tests.

You can also try using Microsoft Game Advisor to see were you stand as far as performance goes? http://www.gamesforwindows.com/ You need to be running Internet Explorer for it to work.
