Can someone help me find a nice kc-135 for fs2004 with a working refueling boom. please.

Try here http://www.simviation.com/hjg/downloads.htm don't know if the booms work though!

I put it in the aircraft folder and the plane doent show up. got another kc-135

Did you download the basepack first and then the textures you want to use?

Mine come up in the Boeing section (e.g RC-135U). If it's not showing up check the aircraft CFG, the line you need to look at should look like this
ui_manufacturer=Boeing

I've downloaded and installed it and it came up in Boeing, scroll down to KC-135A and select. Did you put the texture text into the aircraft Cfg and change the [fltsim.xx] to [fltsim.0]?

i dont now wat that is. but i put the kc135r_usaf_57-1483 into the aircraft foder and put the texture into that folder(the kc135r)

Ok open the KC-135 folder and inside you will see these files, model, sound,panel,texture, air and aircraft cfg.
Double click the aircraft cfg, a window will appear click open with, another window will appear click select programme from a list and then ok , another window will appear and notepad should be highlighted click ok.
we're inside the aircraft cfg, and it should look like this :-

Seriously now Welshflyer it might have eluded your eagle eye, but you have the KC-135A base model, whereas jhnsn1900d has the KC-135R model. Now if he downloaded textures for the "A" model, the included .cfg won't match up. Am I making sense.. Umm...

You are correct Tailhook 😀 , but i downloaded this one, as it was the first on the list, as an example, the principle is exactly the same though. The base packs and textures are all neatly boxed together, eg the KC-135R base pack and textures for the KC-135R are all together in one box.

Roger that Welshflyer, I sussed it all out before my butt-in. Even got myself the appropriate soundset- very impressive considering the relatively small size. They really have worked on their soundsets, the static clicking is all gone now. Oh yes, there's the cool smoke effect as well - don't even have to edit the .cfg, what a blast!!

BTW the refuelling boom can be activated by using the tailhook command.
...and this is in the aircraft.cfg :

ok....... i did click on the aircraft cfg and i selected from a list and it led me to adobe reader and that kind of things. i have put the kci135 folder in the aircraft folder. i dont know y its not working. i did do wat u said though

Ok, had a closer look at it and experienced the same. Anywhere between 20.000 and 22.000ft she starts going berserk. Installed and tried the other one, the KC-135R -same thing. Also noticed that in both models (using the 747default panel) the AutoThrottle switch doesn't work.

I have experienced the same phenomenon in other a/c and I can't help but think that a change of a variable in the aircraft.cfg would fix it. Just don't know where to look.
I am convinced that it's neither a model nor an .air file issue. 🤔

If nothing else, I'm still considering to attempt a carrier landing 😀

Scroll down to 'Other Files' / Sounds Boeing and grab the P&W J57 TURBOJET-C-135A for use with the model we've been discussing in this thread. Sounds great despite its small size.

autothrottle_arming_required=0 to

autothrottle_arming_required=1 in the autopilot section of the aircraft cfg that "normally" works but i don't think it matters in this case.

Got to see some screenies of that carrier landing though 😳 😀

😀 Those little tricks came from many hours of frustration wondering why something should work because the pointer turns to a hand but nothing happens, usually the yaw damper is the biggest culprit, so i discovered if you change the "yaw_damper_gain=0 to yaw_damper_gain=1" the switch in the panel would work properly, so i started trying it with other switches that were supposed to work and did'nt.
As for the rollercoaster ride that's a whole different ballgame 😳 !
I might just download the RAF UKMIL E-3 that,s been uploaded to flightsim and see how that flies and then try to modify my other KC-135s from that file 😕 .

I know this is'nt a KC-135 but it is an E3-D with a rotating radome and is about the nicest model of it i've seen, complete with a nice panel and a great sound. Flies right too 😀 😀 :
